“CREATIVE CITY” PROJECT LABORATORY

“Creative city” project laboratory is going to take place in March, 24-25, 2011, at Siberian Federal University. The event is held by Creative Industries Agency with the support of Siberian Federal University and The Embassy of Finland to Russia.

“Creative city”project laboratory is going to take place in March, 24-25, 2011, at Siberian Federal University. The event is held by Creative Industries Agency with the support of Siberian Federal University and The Embassy of Finland to Russia.

On 24 of March a seminar in a project game format entitled “Creative city” is going to take place. It will be dedicated to the role of university in urban development. Participants of the game are going to introduce some project ideas that will be evaluated by an expert panel. Authors of the best project will be awarded prizes and the project will be introduced to university and city authorities.

Students and lecturers of the university, representatives of government, commercial and non-profit organizations of Krasnoyarsk are welcome to participate in the Lab. Participants will be selected on the basis of applications. Decision on the selection of participants is taken by an independent jury, which will include representatives of the Creative Industries Agency together with experts of the Laboratory. On 25 ofMarch public lectures by leading experts dedicated to creative economy and creative industries, the role of creative communities in urban development and the role of universities in shaping the city's economy competitive and comfortable environment are going to take place.

Among speakers: KatjaRuutu (Helsinki, Finland), PhD in Sociology, a specialist in the field of creative industries and creative economysector (the topic of the lecture - "Creative industries in Finland and in the world"); Ekaterina Larionova(Moscow, Russia), PhD in Architecture, a specialist in urban development, lecturer on Soviet and foreign contemporary architecture at MoscowArchitectural Institute (the topic of the lecture - "The creative energy of communities for the development of the city").
