We are happy to announce the release of  John Howkins  “Creative economy” book in Russian. This release has been expected both by experts and wide audience for a long time. Last summer John Howkins visited our Summer School  where we all discussed the book and obstacles in interpretation.

The basic issue of the book is a creative cluster in the contemporary world and the role of ideas and creativity in modern process.

“Creative economy” was first released in The UK in 2001 and immediately became a bestseller. It was and still is unique because for the first time such a detailed description of interconnection between creativity and the economy was given, and for the first time “idea” and “creativity” became dominant issues in the discussion of world economy.

What can become a new fuel in the modern economy? How to make money out of ideas? Can a dream become a big project?  Simple and really encouraging answers were given in this book.

John Hawkins oversees several consulting companies, is a member of the Advisory Council on the creative economy in the United Nations and is deputy chairman of British Screen Advisory Council (BSAC); John Howkins is also an initiator and director of Adelphi Charteron  Creativity, Innovation and Intellectual Property– these are only some of his activities. He consults global corporations, international organizations, governments and individuals. Today John Howkins lives between London and Chinghai and makes his ideas and dreams happen.

The book was translated and published on the initiative of Creative Industries Agency.
