THE RESEARCH AND PROJECT INITIATIVES FORUM

The Forum was held in the framework of Summer School for fellows of Oxford Russia Fund and the Creative Entrepreneur School on July 13 in the one of the best creative spaces in Moscow – ZIL Cultural Centre.

Nowadays creative resources generate added value and become a key driver of economic growth and social development. For students, creative entrepreneurs and experts of humanities this interdisciplinary field has a big potential for transforming research skills and knowledge to a new forms of activity – socially oriented projects, creative businesses and research. A professional interest in the possibilities of a creative economy in Russia brought together Russian university students, masters' students of all humanities subjects and beginningcreative entrepreneurs all over Russia. Aim of the Forum - is to form a research and project space in regions in the field of contemporary humanities.

The Forum was held in the framework of Summer School for fellows of Oxford Russia Fund and the Creative Entrepreneur School on July 13 in the one of the best creative spaces in Moscow – ZIL Cultural Centre. The Forum is considered to be one of the major academic events in Moscow aiming at presenting the projects of Summer School students and Creative Entrepreneur School graduates wishing to run their own creative and social businesses.

The Forum became an integrated presentation and discussion event. It combined the presentation of projects and researches, discussions on the exhibited materials, communications with experts in the frame of the special workshop and the lecture on social entrepreneurship trends. Also the Forum offered a compact exposition in the ZIL Cultural Centre presenting major aspects of the projects developed by the participants of the Summer School and graduates of Creative Entrepreneur School.

In the framework of the Research and Project Initiatives Forum young Russian start ups and students presented their projects and researches in the frame of very popular intellectual presentation format PechaKucha together with PechaKucha Night Moscow team. There were 25 participants who took part in PechaKucha presentation, among them authors of social and creative projects dedicated to the city development.

The Forum Special Guest was an Executive Director of Euclid Network Filippo Addarii, expertin the fieldof social entrepreneurship. His lecture – «Social Entrepreneurship: a hard journey towards a bright future for yourself and the whole community» - was dedicated to the role of social entrepreneurship in modern world, its problems and challenges.

The Forum gathered together representatives of partner institutions, universities, various foundations and organizations involved in innovation development, Russian and international experts, researches, and representatives of the media. The Forum demonstrated that such events are extremely important to promote humanities agenda and to reinforce research and development activities of the Russian university students.

Creative Entrepreneur School  – an online education program aiming at aspiring entrepreneurs in the field of advertising, architecture, visual and performing arts, fashion, film, video and multimedia, crafts, literature and publishing. The result of studying is development of their own businesses in the area of creative industries.

The Summer School is an annual educational event organised by the Creative Industries Agency in cooperation with the Oxford Russia Fund for the Fund’s fellows – humanities students from Russia’s regional universities. The Summer School is an effective educational form that provides its participants with the opportunity to discover related scientific fields and international practices, helps them create their own projects and be involved in professional networks.
