The Creative Industries Agency has opened an enrollment of participants for the International Internship, which will take place in Barcelona on April 2016.

 Barcelona is an established European capital of Culture. First of all this example is interesting due to the fact, that this city has gained its leadership based on local resources and local cultural features. Currently, Barcelona is a venue for festivals, forums, and world-famous international exhibitions. It is a place of development a sustainable mechanism of interaction between independent cultural areas, creative businesses, urban activists and governance. 

The internship is developed for creative and social entrepreneurs, managers of cultural projects, urbanists and researchers of socio-cultural practices. This program will be useful both for experienced practitioners and for beginners.

Our Agency restarts the usual format of the internship. The speeches of speakers will be completed with seminars, including meeting experts. Traditional excursions will become an opportunity to join a cultural life one of the world-famous capitals of Culture. Essential conditions of participation are motivation and inclusion. This tour will be especially useful for those who want to compare own knowledge and skills with world market requirements of creative industries.

The program of the internship

1.     Creative businesses and art clusters

Poblenou Urban District is a classic example of industrial suburban, which since the end of the XX century has been transforming into a new and creative business. As in a textbook example, creative industries became that one of the significant drivers of the district development. You will meet all the members of the gentrification process- an organization, which is engaged in working out the area, the developing centre of creative businesses and what is the most essential the creative industries themselves.

The program of the internship includes:

  • The Developing centre of Poblenou Urban District;
  • Design studios and art venues of Poblenou Urban District;
  • The Support Centre of urban entrepreneurship Barcelona Activa;
  • The coworking for creative professionals Valkiria Hub Space.

 2.     Gastronomic projects

It is interesting for us to show the projects where Food is a meeting point, a reason, a motivation and a subject for creative initiatives. Being different in formats (from the legendary Bokeria Market up to a brewery adjoining with a museum), the spaces are focused on a creative dialogue with locals or even seek for developing a small business.

 The program of the internship includes:

  • The Bokeria market as one of the collaboration participants with painters;
  • Art and gastronomic area Nyam Nyam, which has a business with local communities;
  • Street food festival EatStreet;
  • Chocolate museum / Museu de xocolata;
  •  The BlackLab brewery located inside the Catalonia history museum.

3.     Design

Design and fashion are successful sectors of Barcelona creative industries. It has become an integral part of the city brand. During the tour, we will see the spaces, which are the main points in the market infrastructure of design and fashion.

 The program of the internship includes:

  • The art workshop of the world-known brand Desigual;
  • The Barcelona Design Centre and Museum / Disseny Hub Barcelona;
  • The eldest flea market of Barcelona Encants;
  • The training ground Escola ELISAVA (Barcelona school of design and engineering).

4.     Evening program

Besides the professional part of the program, we will also suggest you an entertaining program, including concerts, exhibitions, and festivals. Despite the optional format of the events, all the same, they will thematically connect with a main program of the trip.

 Taking on an internship will give you:

  •  Personal contacts with potential partners and experts from Barcelona;
  • Professional visits to the spaces of successful European cultural projects;
  • An opportunity to elaborate your own project and to get expert comments;
  • The facts and the experts interviews for research works and students projects;
  •  A possibility to complete your CV with international experience.

At the end of the internship, all the students will get the Certificates of the Creative Industries Agency and the Spanish partner.


 The schedule of the internship

  • In the course of five full days, the group members are visiting cultural and entrepreneurial spaces of Barcelona, meeting the managers/curators and discussing seen cases in the format of seminars with an involvement of European experts. The duration of the official program is not less than 8 hours a day.
  • The internship is accompanied by the experts of Creative Industries Agency from Moscow and from Barcelona as well. 
  • The working language is Russian; all the events of the professional program go with translations.
  • The fee is fixed for the professional program and does not comprise conditions of flight and accommodation. The organizers can only provide information and recommendations about accommodation and transfer.


The cost

If you pay until 09.03.2016, the price is 25 000 rubles. There 15% discount is also provided for students and for students of vocational education programs whether the payment made before 09.03.2016.

If you pay after 09.03.2016 the price is 30 000 rubles.

The payment of the internship include organization and holding the professional program, coordination and accompaniment of the program in Barcelona, handouts, and translation services.

The payment of the internship does not include expenses on getting a visa, insurance, flights, accommodation in Barcelona, traveling around the city, food and travel expenses.
